Unlike synthetic brushes, which require cutting and shaping the tip, artisans use a tool called a koma to shape the tip. A distinctive feature of Kumano brushes is that the horsehair tips are left uncut and become the brush tip, resulting in a soft feel against the skin. This makeup brush has a slightly smaller tip designed specifically for liquid foundation (cream foundation). After use, lightly wipe with tissue and store, then wash the tip with soap about once every two weeks.
