Master Tezuka Osamu's masterpiece romance is being published for the first time in its original version under the name "Blue Triton"! Two storyboards drawn by Tezuka himself for the "phantom" anime "Blue Triton" are also being revealed for the first time!!
"Blue Triton" is a masterpiece of ocean adventure sci-fi romance, drawn on a grand scale by master Tezuka Osamu. Later adapted into a TV anime series titled "Triton of the Sea" (1972, Yoshiyuki Tomino's directorial debut), it became a huge hit. The epic series ran for over two years, running one page per day in the Sankei Shimbun newspaper from September 1, 1969 to December 31, 1971. Now, it's finally being published in its original, original size as the first book under the name "Blue Triton"!
When this work was first published in book form after the serialization ended (Akita Shoten Sunday Comics, 1972), it was renamed "Triton of the Sea" and the content was cut and altered. It was later reverted to its original newspaper serialization for inclusion in the complete works. However, few people know the original version, so this first reprint is of great significance in terms of examining the unique characteristics of each version.
This time, it is presented in its original newspaper serialization size, with each issue being one page, and even Tezuka's precious handwritten lines, which have been transcribed in print in previous volumes, are reproduced exactly as they were. The header of each issue (title logo + illustration + issue number) from the serialization, along with the publication date and day of the week, faithfully recreates the format of the daily newspaper serialization. Reading "Triton" with the same sensibility as readers back then will be a fresh and unknown experience for fans.
Additionally, this volume features the first public release of all surviving pages (14 pages and 63 pages) of the incredibly rare storyboards (published in two volumes, one on top and one on bottom) from the "phantom" pilot anime "Blue Triton" (produced by Mushi Productions, completed in October 1971, color, approximately 8 minutes), drawn by Tezuka himself. This is a truly A-list treasure that fans won't want to miss. This is a "limited edition first edition," so don't miss out!
