Iroe" refers to ceramics in which a blue-and-white base is painted with a variety of colors, including blue, yellow, green, and purple, and then painted with other colors. This time, we have created a "blue-and-white" tenugui (hand towel) featuring the three common blues in our blue-and-white series, with a touch of blue-green. Hydrangeas, beautiful flowers that brighten up gardens even during the rainy season, are a striking and captivating flower. In Japan, on the summer solstice or the day of the ox, hydrangeas are wrapped in washi paper and tied with mizuhiki cord, and hung high in the entranceway to pray for the safety of the household and prosperity in business. This beautiful piece features a refreshing blue-green color reminiscent of early summer.
Made in Japan with high-quality Chita cotton Tokuoka fabric.
Like traditional tenugui, both ends are left unfinished.
Enjoy decorating by mounting them on a hanging scroll or framing them. At 100cm long, they are also suitable for use as kendo men towels.
The actual color may differ from what you see on your monitor. Please be aware of this.
