Queen Liliuokalani studied music from age 7 and composed 165 songs until her death at age 79. Being greatly influenced by European music, I composed many three-time waltz songs. In this album, traditional Hawaiian instruments are added to the heavy orchestral arrangement that Queen Liliuokalani spent time at the court, and court music at Iolani Palace, where Hawaii was extremely prosperous, is powerfully expressed. Scenes from a palace ball, the lush mountains of Hawaii, and the gentle scent of flowers.
