Low‑molecular‑weight hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate): Smaller HA molecules penetrate more deeply to hydrate lower layers of the epidermis and improve skin plumpness. High‑molecular‑weight hyaluronic acid (often included): Sits on the skin surface to provide immediate hydration and reduce TEWL (transepidermal water loss). Humectants: Glycerin, propanediol, butylene glycol — attract and retain moisture. Emollients / lipids: Caprylic/capric triglyceride, squalane, esters — smooth and soften skin, restore lipid barrier.
