DANNER
"We make shoes that are easy to use and durable, so that the wearer doesn't have to feel inconvenienced." This is the philosophy behind Danner's shoemaking, which has remained unchanged since our founding in 1932 and continued to this day, even after we moved our headquarters to Portland, Oregon. To achieve this, we believe it is important to avoid repetitive mass-production processes as much as possible and instead craft our products meticulously by hand using carefully selected materials. Danner's first boots were for loggers, with studded soles. Then, in 1952, we created America's first climbing shoes with Vibram soles. In 1980, we introduced the world's first Gore-Tex boots.
In this way, Danner has always considered the industry and usage of its wearers, and has continued to create heavy-duty shoes that truly demonstrate their capabilities in each field. In today's market, there are various challenges to continuing to make shoes that resist the wave of standardization brought about by mass production. Obtaining not only production volume but also materials and specialized tools required for work is becoming increasingly difficult. However, we at Danner remain committed to continuing to make the highest quality shoes that people can wear with pride, without losing our individuality no matter how times change.
