Manufactured by Moonstar Co., Ltd. in Kurume, Fukuoka Prefecture, a long-established shoe manufacturer with one of only three vulcanizers (vulcanization furnaces) remaining in Japan. Fine Vulcanization is characterized by its beautiful form, achieved by skilled craftsmen, and its soft feel. The vulcanization method does not apply excessive pressure, allowing the rubber of the canvas sneakers to be slowly vapor-deposited, resulting in a beautiful finish down to the finer details that cannot be achieved with mass-produced products. Founded 140 years ago, Moonstar has an intimate knowledge of Japanese feet and uses its unique, elaborate foot shapes to offer the finest casual shoes, with a focus on fit, comfort, and walking comfort. [Upper design] These lace-up sneakers are reminiscent of traditional dance shoes. The canvas upper and vulcanized sole create a unique look. This simple and smart low-cut model is a stylish piece. [Outsole] Rubber made for fine vulcanization (fine vulcanized rubber) is heated and pressurized in a vulcanizer, vulcanizing and pressing it together while simultaneously molding the outsole. The sulfur mixed into the raw rubber undergoes a chemical change when heated, transforming it into a durable, resilient rubber. Because the heating and pressure are applied slowly over time, the bond between the sole and upper is strong, reducing the risk of the sole peeling off. Additionally, because the bonding and molding are done simultaneously, the sole retains its shape effortlessly and is less likely to lose its shape.
