Noboru Yasuda
Born in 1956 in Choshi City, Chiba Prefecture, Yasuda is a supporting actor in the Shimogakari Hōshō school of Noh. He encountered Noh while teaching at high school and became a disciple of Master Kaburagi Mineo. He currently works as a Noh performer both in Japan and abroad, while also creating, directing, and performing in works that use Noh methods. He also runs "Yugaku Juku" temple schools, primarily in Tokyo and around the country, where he studies the Analects and other works, and continues to reexamine the "physicality" of Japanese and Chinese classics. He has also appeared on NHK's 100-Minute Masterpieces program. His major works include "Noh: What is the mechanism that has continued for 650 years?" (Shincho Shinsho), "The Amazing Analects" and "The Power of the Gap: Living Beyond the 'Age of the Heart'" (all published by Mishimasha), "Classics of the Fields" (Kinokuniya Bookstore), "Useful Classics" and "The Basics of Learning: Useful Confucianism" (all published by NHK Publishing), "A Journey in Search of the Invisible: Travel, Noh, and Classics" and "Magical Bones" (all published by Aki Shobo).
