PLANET VC-231G VDSL2 1000 BASE-T MEDIA CONVERTER • High-performance 150/150Mbps Downlink/Uplink Gigabit Ethernet over Telephone Cable PLANET VC-231G, a high-performance next-generation Gigabit Ethernet-over-VDSL2 converter, works well with the ubiquitous telephone network with symmetrical data rates up to 150/150Mbps (G.INP, Sym, 8dB) over a distance of 300m and 22/10Mbps over a distance of 1.4km. It is based on dual-core network technology, Gigabit Ethernet and VDSL2 (Very High-Rate Digital Subscriber Line 2). VDSL2 technology offers the absolute fastest data transmission over existing copper telephone lines without the need to rewire. • High-Performance Ethernet over VDSL2: With the latest VDSL2 technology, PLANET VC-231G offers high-speed Internet access, up to 190 Mbps for upstream and downstream data transmission. Integrated with the new ITU-T G.993.5 vectorization technology, the VC-231G works with a vector-enabled DSLAM to remove crosstalk interference and improve maximum line throughput over existing copper infrastructure. • Implements with Existing Copper Telephone Wires: The VC-231G is also a Long Reach Ethernet (LRE) converter, providing one RJ45 Ethernet port and one RJ11 telephone jack for VDSL2 connection. Use the additional splitter included in the VC-231G package to share your existing telephone line with POTS, eliminating the need to replace existing copper wiring. Simply connect the VC-231G with an additional splitter to an existing RJ11 telephone jack to create a high-performance VDSL2 network. It's ideal for use as an Ethernet extender for an existing Ethernet network.
