Features of Iron Products
- Due to its excellent heat conductivity, heating over high heat may cause food to burn.
- When cooking highly acidic ingredients such as burdock, lotus root, or eggplant, the food may turn black. This is due to the acidity of the ingredients and the iron in the pot and is completely harmless to the body.
- When cooking highly acidic ingredients such as tomato sauce or jam, the acid may cause the surface to turn whitish, and the food may taste iron-like. This will have no effect on the body, but it may rust easily, so please store it with oil.
If you wash the pot with detergent or if the oil on the surface is removed by the acid, it will rust easily, so please re-season it.
How to Season (Warm-up before Use)
1. Wash with dishwashing detergent and wipe dry thoroughly.
2. Place on the stove and heat over medium heat or lower until white smoke appears.
*This will cause the pot to become very hot when empty, so stay close to it and take care not to get burned.
*If you are using a gas stove with an Si sensor, the flame may become smaller or go out during cooking. We recommend using a portable stove.
*Even if you are not sure whether white smoke is coming off, continue cooking for about 5 minutes.
3. Turn off the heat and let it cool slightly, then while the pot is still warm, coat the entire surface with vegetable oil such as olive oil.
*The pot will be hot, so be careful not to burn yourself.
*This material is suitable for use on an induction cooktop, but it cannot be seasoned on an induction cooktop. Seasoning should be done on a gas or portable stove.
Caution: The pot will be very hot during cooking and immediately after cooking. To avoid the risk of burns, be sure to use thick cooking gloves.
This product can be used over an open flame such as an oven, gas stove, or induction cooktop.
Do not use in the microwave.
After use, quickly wash off any dirt or other debris, wipe off any moisture, lightly heat it over a flame to dry, then coat it with a thin layer of cooking oil and store it in a dry place.
Do not soak or use in a dishwasher.
