Description
[Made in Japan, Kurume-woven Samue]
This is a purely domestically produced, pre-dyed samue woven in our own factory.
Until recently, samue was considered a specialized type of kimono reserved for Buddhist monks. Kurume-woven samue has now been adapted for everyday wear in the home. Production began in the latter half of the Showa era, when few people wore them as everyday clothing. However, thanks to its manufacturing capabilities, including dyeing, weaving, and sewing, its high quality gained a reputation and it was sold nationwide.
The Kurume-made brand and its reliability have led to many repeat purchases from fans, including many overseas. It is a favorite of monks, Japanese restaurants, izakayas, inns, martial artists, potters, writers, painters, calligraphers, landscapers, chiropractors, and many others in a variety of professions.
[Kurume Chijimi Weave] (Summer Material)
With its soft cotton feel and lightweight, cool summer fabric, it has proven extremely popular.
The warp threads are watermarked and then tumbled during the finishing process. The weft threads in the watermarked areas shrink, creating a textured feel and a refreshing feel. The more you wear it, the more comfortable it becomes against your skin, and it is also extremely breathable. The tasteful, muted dark navy color is a unique shade of yarn-dyed fabric.
