This is the first-ever vinyl pressing of the "Image Symphonic Suite" for Studio Ghibli's 2004 film "Howl's Moving Castle," directed by Hayao Miyazaki. Unlike the film's full soundtrack, this image album was composed and recorded before production of the movie itself: Joe Hisaishi conducted the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in Prague to capture the musical world Miyazaki envisioned for the story, with mastering completed at Abbey Road Studios in London. Several of these orchestral themes were later developed into cues that appear in the finished film's score. The audio has been newly remastered for this LP release, and the jacket features new artwork designed specifically for the vinyl edition.
Track List:
Side A: 1. Mysterious World / 2. The Wizard of the Moving Castle / 3. Sophie's Tomorrow / 4. The Boy / 5. The Moving Castle
Side B: 1. War War War / 2. Wizard's Waltz / 3. Secret Garden / 4. Temptation of Dawn / 5. Cave of Mind
A rare collector's item for fans of Studio Ghibli and Joe Hisaishi, offered as a limited pressing tied to Japan's official "Record Day" (Record Store Day-style) 2020 campaign. Note: this is a single-LP orchestral "image album," distinct from the separately released 2LP film soundtrack (TJJA-10030).
