Tesa 60670 – Conductive Aluminum Tape for HVAC and Insulation
Tesa 60670 is a strong aluminum tape designed to permanently bond, seal, and protect thermal insulation, ducts, and pipes. The backing is made of a 75 µm thick aluminum foil coated with a transparent acrylic adhesive. The total thickness of the tape is 125 µm.
The tape is electrically and thermally conductive, creates a barrier against moisture, gases, and vapors, and reflects heat and light. This makes it suitable for HVAC installations, technical insulation, and applications requiring a conductive or reflective surface.
Applications of Tesa 60670
Tesa 60670 is primarily intended for bonding and sealing thermal insulation, ducts, and pipes. It can be used in HVAC systems and other technical installations where a durable aluminum sealing layer is required.
The manufacturer also indicates its use in the repair of trucks and trailers, creating electrically and thermally conductive surfaces, and in applications utilizing aluminum's ability to reflect thermal radiation.
What distinguishes Tesa 60670
The 75 µm thick aluminum foil provides high mechanical resistance. At the same time, the tape is easily torn by hand and unwinds, making it easy to use during assembly, installation, and service work.
The aluminum backing provides a barrier against moisture, gases, and vapors. Tesa 60670 also offers very good water and abrasion resistance.
One of the most important product features is its electrical and thermal conductivity. The aluminum surface also reflects light and thermal radiation.
Tesa 60670 without release liner – what does that mean?
Tesa 60670 does not have a release liner or a strip to protect the adhesive layer. During application, the tape is unrolled directly from the roll, without the need to separate the additional liner.
This is particularly convenient when applying longer lengths of tape, as no additional paper release liner is created during application.
Tesa 60670 temperature and fire resistance
Tesa 60670 is designed for use in a temperature range of -40°C to +160°C.
The tape is fire-resistant according to DIN 4102 class B1 and meets the requirements of UL 510A and UL 723.
How to choose the right Tesa tape?
The type of backing and adhesive influences the properties and application of the tape. In the Melkib material, we show what to pay attention to when choosing the right Tesa tape for a specific task.

FAQ – Tesa 60670
Is Tesa 60670 electrically conductive?
Yes. Tesa 60670 is electrically and thermally conductive. This property is due to the aluminum backing and allows the tape to be used in applications requiring a conductive surface.
Is Tesa 60670 suitable for HVAC and thermal insulation?
Yes. One of the main applications indicated for Tesa 60670 is the bonding and sealing of thermal insulation, ducts, and pipes, so the tape performs well in typical HVAC applications.
Does Tesa 60670 have a release paper over the adhesive layer?
No. Tesa 60670 does not have a release liner or release liner. The tape is unrolled directly from the roll, without the need to remove the additional release paper.
What is the thickness of Tesa 60670 – 75 µm or 125 µm?
75 µm is the thickness of the aluminum foil itself, which forms the backing of the tape. The total thickness of Tesa 60670 including the adhesive layer is 125 µm.
What temperature can Tesa 60670 operate at?
The operating temperature range is -40°C to +160°C.
Can Tesa 60670 be easily removed after application?
No. Tesa 60670 is designed for permanent applications and is not classified as an easily removable tape.
Is Tesa 60670 moisture-resistant?
Yes. The aluminum backing creates a barrier against moisture, gases, and vapors, and the tape's water resistance is rated as very good.
