[USED] Signed book, first edition, Tomonaga Shozo doll collection, Prin Prin Story doll designer

This is a signed collection of Tomonaga Shozo's doll works. This is a first edition published by Bunka Publishing Bureau in 1980. This is a collection of works by this sculptor, who is also renowned for designing the dolls for Prin Prin Monogatari. As shown in the last image, the book was covered with wax paper (it will be removed before shipping), but there is some light wear and natural aging on the back cover and several pages of the book (see image). The signature was photographed with the edges cut off to prevent copying. Since there is a signed item with the same date on Mercari, you can be sure it is handwritten. Please note that this is an original item and has been stored at home.

This collection of Tomonaga's works includes designs inspired by Indonesian marionettes, dolls with extremely slender silhouettes that exude a sculptural beauty, and designs that are different from both Western and traditional Japanese dolls. While he is famous for Prin Prin Monogatari, he also creates works that are inspired by ball-jointed dolls and rather Japanese-style dolls, such as those wearing high geta sandals and dolls in chairs.
