Nine Enchanting Stories
『Reasons for Travel』 is a prose that tells nine stories of what writer Kim Young-ha felt and thought while traveling for a long time, from the moment he first left for a trip to his recent trip. Rather than being a travel story that unravels experiences experienced in a travel destination, it is more like a journey of thought that expands the subject to humans and writing, others and the meaning of life, centered on travel. The stories about humans and the world seen as a novelist and traveler in the work are surprisingly fascinating. It contains the sacrament of (anthropo)literary thought unique to artist Young-ha Kim, who draws out and breathes life into thoughts that anyone would have thought of at least once, but left unorganized.
I have wanted to write about travel for quite some time. I wanted to ask myself questions such as what travel was to me, why I went so steadily, and why humans travel, and seek answers. Looking back on my past life, so judging by the time and effort I put in, I was a writer first of all, and then a traveler. It's because I've been working hard on writing and traveling the most. I had many opportunities to write about writing, but not so much about travel. I started with a light heart, but as I wrote it, so many things came up from deep in my memory.
