This work fully showcased the talents of two vocalists and songwriters with exceptional personalities, Mackie and Malani. “THE HURT” has a wonderful singing of Mackie as if it were flying through the blue sky of Hawaii, “NIGHTBIRD,” where Mackie's melancholy singing voice is the most romantic, and “NATURALLY” and “YOU MAKE IT HARD” by Malani, who takes you to Hawaii with just that singing voice alone, are all famous Hawaiian classical songs that span the best time period at local stations in Hawaii. “WHAT DO I DO,” “WHEN THE MORNING COMES,” and “GOING GOING GONE” are fresh acoustic rocco grooves, down to the particles of guitar cutting sound. “ALL I WANT” is the gold standard for contemporary Hawaiian & Hawaiian AOR that never fades, created by young Hawaiian people in 1975, such as the title song of Mackie's solo work “BURING BRIDGES,” and the famous Mackie hidden song “TO BE TRUE,” which creates mellow covers by KUMUHAU, etc. (Tropic Hawaii Records/Takeshi Nagakubo)
