This is 21st-century Bossa Nova. The long-awaited domestic CD release is the 2nd album “Azul” by Antonio Carlos Jobin's youngest daughter = Maria Louisa Jobin.

Maria Luisa Jobin is known as the youngest daughter of Antonio Carlos Jobin, the greatest composer in Bossa Nova history. Since I was a child, I have lived in Rio and New York. He is a singer-songwriter and music producer who has gone through a career that can be said to be Brazil's music elite, such as studying at the Juilliard School of Music and Berklee College of Music. On the other hand, he immersed himself in electronic music at the beginning of his career, probably in order to escape from his large father. The 1st album “Casa Branca” ('19) was an album that strongly reflected that orientation at that time.

This album “Azul” ('23) was released for the first time in 4 years since then. Although electronics continue to be used, the sharp increase in the ratio of acoustic instruments can be said to be the biggest change. Starting with “O Tempo” at the beginning, where Maria's singing voice is integrated into a tireless groove, “Medo Bom,” which has impressive elegant strings, “Papais,” where Adriana Calcañot also participated as a guest, the popular song “Samba do Soho” composed by Jobin's son Paulo Jobin, and even the cover of “So Tears” where Lisa Ono participated as a guest. The electronic/acoustic hybrid ensemble blends seamlessly with Maria's singing voice. The essence of Brazilian music pioneered by my father is finished in content that I would like to say '21st century bossa nova' developed in a modern way.
