While taking advantage of the superiority of the optical design created exclusively for mirrorless cameras, the glass materials include six FLD glasses and two SLD glasses rather than special low-dispersion glass. Three aspherical lenses are also used to thoroughly suppress aberrations that are difficult to post-process, such as axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma aberration, achieving uniform and high optical performance from the center to the periphery of the entire zoom range.
Various functions can be assigned to the AFL button from the body side, improving operability during shooting. By adopting a stepping motor and algorithm, the AF drive is both faster and quieter.
In consideration of shooting under harsh conditions, the camera features a dust- and drip-proof structure and a water- and dirt-repellent coating. The lens barrel is also equipped with a variety of functions, including an AFL button that can be assigned various functions, a zoom lock switch that unlocks when you zoom, and a tactile AF/MF switch.
