The wide brim securely covers your face and blocks the sun's rays, making it ideal for sunburn prevention. The brim has wire in it so you can freely arrange the shape, so it has a timeless design that can be combined with a variety of styles.
◆Raffia?
Raffia is a natural material made from the leaves of the raffia palm tree, which is native to Madagascar. Hats are made from a material made by knitting strings made from these fibers. The more you use it, the more it will fit in your hands and become softer to the touch. There are two ways to knit raffia: thin knitting and thick knitting. Normally, thick knitting is completed in less than a day, but fine knitting takes two to three days for the craftsmen to carefully finish. At Tanaka Hat Shop, we use fine knitting, which not only creates a delicate and beautiful finish, but is also extremely comfortable to wear.
◆Founded in Meiji 13 ~ A long-established store with a history of over 100 years ~
Straw hats are a traditional craft from Kasukabe City, Saitama Prefecture. Currently, there are only a few factories in Japan that are capable of mass production, and among them, Tanaka Hatten is a long-established store that boasts over 100 years of history and tradition. Straw hats are made using a unique sewing method in which craftsmen stack each hat one by one and sew it into a circular shape, using a material made from seven strands of wheat woven into one strand. Straw, a natural material, has good breathability and is perfect for protecting you from the sun, making it an indispensable hat for summer. At Tanaka Hat Shop, we still carefully make straw hats one by one using traditional methods, which are popular among men and women of all ages.
