Tanmen Iwao Fukushima, a stand-up singer who was active in the Fats Bottle Blues Band during the dawn of Japanese blues in the 1970s, and later in Japan's first jump blues band, Iwao Fukushima & the Midnighters, has resumed his activities in his hometown of Kyoto after a hiatus of nearly 10 years. In March 2019, he released his first solo album “UNTIL NOW, AND NOW”. In 2020, Fukushima "TAN-MEN" Iwao formed Rockin' The Blues! with young members from his hometown, Kansai. He sings energetically, focusing on jump blues and New Orleans R&B. Recently, he has been actively working on the Japaneseization of blues and R&B as chairman and vice-chairman of the Blues Japanese Translation Association with his ally Mitsuyoshi Azuma.
