Pablo Vargas Lugo: Acts of God / Actos de Dios
Published to mark the opening of the 58th Venice Biennale and edited by Magarai Arriola, this book explores faith beyond the framework of religion and shows its traces in the contemporary world in various forms. By setting up parallels with geological origins, mythical time and the biblical Book of Genesis, the project aims to propose a moral perspective that offers new ways of understanding current events: migration and poverty, greed and power, skepticism, or conversely, political messianism and religious fanaticism. Acts of God imagines new lessons to be drawn from what has been hidden since the beginning of the world, says the publisher.
