Daito cutting boards are made from soft, yet just the right amount of firm, domestically produced polyethylene, the perfect hardness for cutting boards. 10mm cutting boards are embossed on one side, while boards 15mm and above are sanded on both sides for a textured finish. Sanding involves using sandpaper to create a texture on the entire cutting board, preventing food from slipping and scratching even when the board is wet with water or oil. This is gentle on the material and blades.
