Product Description: This is the Gecko Model "1/35 WWII British Army K2/Y Military Ambulance Well-Known Katy Limited Special Edition" plastic model kit. The K2/Y is a military ambulance based on the K30 civilian light truck used by the British Army during World War II. Developed by the Royal Army Medical Corps, the rear body could seat 10 wounded and transport four stretchers at a time. A total of 13,102 K2/Y military ambulances were produced between 1940 and the end of the war, and they were nicknamed "Katy" after their chassis number, K2 (KTwo), by not only the British Army but also the U.S. Army, which received them under the Lend-Lease program.
