Fine Molds 1/48 Japanese Army and Navy Aircraft Series: Imperial Navy Special Attack Aircraft Prototype Kikka Plastic Model FC01
Design of the Kikka, Japan's first jet aircraft, began in July 1944, based on technical data from the Me 262 jet fighter, already in service with the German Air Force at the time.
Due to delays in the Navy's project requirements, as well as repeated design changes due to material shortages and engine changes, the first aircraft's maiden flight was not until August 7, 1945.
While Japan's first jet aircraft flight was successful, the second flight, scheduled for four days later, failed to take off during a test.
The aircraft was damaged and remained in place until the end of the war.
As the first in a new series with updated product numbers, this is a reproduction of the Kikka, a jet aircraft developed at the end of World War II.
This plastic model requires assembly and painting. Additional adhesives, tools, and paints are required.
1/48 scale unpainted plastic assembly kit.
This kit also models the Kikka, a jet aircraft developed at the end of World War II.
