REPRODUCTION OF FOUND is a sneaker brand launched in the 2016 S/S season. Based on the concept of "Found: FOUND, Reproduce: REPRODUCTION," the brand focuses on timeless, authentic military shoes. Each pair is handmade in a factory that actually produced military training shoes from the 1950s to the 1990s.
[Military Trainers] These retro sneakers, commonly known as "deck shoes," were used as training shoes by the U.S. Navy in the 1940s. Given their age, they're a model that's unlikely to be found in deadstock. We commissioned a factory that produced military shoes to recreate them in a modern style.
[Military-specific functionality] The key features are the shape of the bottom sole, which improves grip even on slippery decks (ship decks) due to water, and the slightly higher heel, which allows water to escape.
Water-repellent and stain-resistant: The 500-denier Cordura nylon used is highly durable and water-resistant for its weight. The surface of the fabric is treated with DuPont Teflon for water-repellent and stain-resistant properties.
*You may notice bloom (a white powder-like substance) on the sole. This is due to the characteristics of the material; 100% natural rubber quickly deteriorates when exposed to ultraviolet rays, so we add a compound to protect it. Please understand that this is to prevent deterioration. Brushing or wiping with a wet rag can reduce the bloom, but it is only temporary and cannot be removed completely. Applying a rubber polish or protective agent will clean the sole. Shoe care products such as rubber boot polish sprays have a similar effect.
