Product Introduction
The IS-3 tank was first unveiled at the Victory Parade in Berlin on September 7, 1945. Produced in April 1945, this powerful heavy tank was intended to terrify the Western Allies. Weighing over 45 tons, this steel colossus featured highly sloped armor plates that facilitated shell ricochet. It was armed with the 122mm D-25T gun known from the IS-2 tank. Despite its impressive weight, the IS-3 was relatively maneuverable thanks to its W-11 diesel engine. The IS-3 block tank was designed in 1:28 scale and mimics the highly distinctive rounded shape of its inspiration. Consisting of over 1,100 elements, the model is 35.5 cm long when assembled. Beneath the removable turret are accurately reproduced interior elements. A brick replica of the W-11 tank engine can be placed under the service hatch. The turret also features a brick-printed periscope. This incredibly challenging tank shape has been recreated using the latest elements created for the COBI Historical Collection! The tracks move, the turret rotates, and the gun barrel raises and lowers. The set includes a Soviet tank driver figure dressed in the distinctive navy blue suit. This authentic IS-3 tank, a counterpart to German heavy tanks, looks great on your shelf alongside the largest German and American vehicles in the COBI Historical Collection. Build history, piece by piece, with COBI.
