The Seiko 5 was Seiko's popular automatic watch series, but sales in Japan were discontinued due to the shift to quartz watches. Since then, it has been exclusively produced for overseas markets and enjoys great popularity, particularly in Europe and the United States. Its big brother, the "Five Sports," is a highly practical, authentic model that also boasts water resistance. This model, with a "J" at the end of the model number, is a Made in Japan model. The case back and the dial are engraved with "Japan" at 6 o'clock. While regular models are assembled in Southeast Asia using domestically produced movements and parts, this is an extremely high-quality overseas product that is manufactured entirely by Seiko in Japan.
