The Tobu Railway 10000 series is a ground-only train manufactured from 1983 based on the 9000 series as a commuter model to replace the 8000 series. It began operation on the Tobu Tojo Line in December 1983, and in March 1984 also began operation on Tobu Main Line systems such as the Isesaki Line and Nikko Line.
The 20m-class, lightweight stainless steel body with four double-door doors features a royal maroon stripe, and it still operates in this style today. 2-, 6-, and 8-car formations were manufactured, with the 2-, 6-, and 8-car formations operating on Tobu Main Line systems such as the Isesaki Line and Nikko Line, while later modified 10-car formations are used on the Tobu Tojo Line.
Cars manufactured after 1986 have different floorboard colors and seat armrest shapes, and the color of the seat moquettes has also been changed from Colorado Orange to the current yellow-green, starting with 11606F manufactured that year. The cars originally commissioned in Colorado Orange were later replaced with yellow-green.
All two-car formations have now been refurbished and are used for one-man operation on lines such as the Sano Line, Kiryu Line, and Koizumi Line. This product recreates the train's appearance before the refurbishment.
