The Shakoki Dogu, a masterpiece from the late Jomon period unearthed from the Kamegaoka ruins in Tsugaru City, Aomori Prefecture, is designed not from a frontal view, but from a slightly angled perspective. The three-dimensionality and expression that you wouldn't notice from a frontal view are vividly expressed on the tenugui. The spirals, dots, and notches of the actual Jomon pattern are faithfully traced, and the richness of the details stands out the closer you look.
