Product introduction
A singing voice from its heyday that can be heard at performances at Paris Bobino, the mecca of the Left Bank faction.
It was 1960, 4 years after the Olympia performance in 1956, which was the trigger for Amalia Rodriguez (1920-99), the queen of fado, to grow into a global star. This film recorded her first performance at Bobino, a long-established Parisian hall that Amalia had in mind as an important venue similar to Olympia. Compared to the Olympia performance in '56, which was slightly tense, Bobino, which has a common atmosphere, looks relaxed and makes me listen to the singing voice. Amalia received great acclaim from Parisians, adding songs from Brazil and Spain, and songs provided by Charles Aznavour to her repertoire. Accompaniments are Domingos Camarinha (Portuguese guitar) and Santos Moreira (classical guitar), who have been in charge for many years.
