In addition to the SPEC-N, supervised by Yuki Nakano, a charismatic angler with a deep knowledge of Tohoku's rivers, the SPEC-K, supervised by Kazutoshi Kasuga, a veteran angler with a deep knowledge of Hokkaido and overseas, will be released in spring 2020. The SPEC-K is a powerful series designed to withstand the currents of the mighty rivers and marshlands of Hokkaido and subdue the ferocious fights of monster trout and salmon. The SPEC-K is available in lengths S74H, S78XH, and S81SXH, and is compatible with both domestic and international trout and salmon. In Hokkaido, it has landed white-spotted char, rainbow trout, huchen, and pink salmon, while tests in Alaska have also landed steelhead, red salmon, and king salmon. Designed with large fish in mind, it features three double foot guides, making it the strongest rod in the series, able to withstand the largest fish. The end grip is designed longer, allowing the angler to support the rod with their entire body during the fight. Even at this length, it's extremely light, and fatigue doesn't build up even after a full day of casting, allowing you to maintain concentration for long periods of time - a major advantage. If it were too long, the power wouldn't be transmitted as easily to the tip, and air resistance would make it difficult to cast, so we struck a balance between length and maneuverability. This length makes it easier to distribute the power throughout the rod when casting, allowing for ample distances. The butt and blank are also designed to be strong, allowing for effortless casting of heavyweight lures up to 40g. In Japan, it has been used to catch rainbow trout over 70cm, rainbow trout, and huchen taimen over a meter. It's a rod that can take on trout and salmon around the world.
