The first edition was published in December 2018, after a translation period of approximately nine years. Following the NIT, this translation is another collaborative effort with the support and cooperation of Catholic and Protestant churches. It incorporates the research findings of the United Bible Societies (UBS), the world's largest Bible translation network, and was translated by Japan's leading biblical scholars and Japanese language experts. The translation reflects as much as possible the advances in biblical studies, translation studies, and biblical archaeology achieved in the quarter century since the NIT. This standard edition, with no references or footnotes and a large amount of text per page, contains the entire New Testament, as well as the Psalms and Proverbs from the Old Testament. Its softcover is easy to open and use, and the text is 8.5 points, making it easy to read. If you read one chapter (volume) per day, you can finish the New Testament and Psalms in just over a year and a month, and Proverbs in roughly one month.
